2 critically hurt following house fire in Queens: FDNY

JACKSON HEIGHTS, Queens – Seven people were injured, including two critically following a fire in a residential Queens neighborhood.

FDNY said the fire started on 1st floor of 69-12 31st Ave. around 6:20 a.m. Saturday. The blaze inside the three-story home was placed under control less than a half hour later.

The victims were taken to area hospitals in varying conditions, according to fire officials.

At the scene, windows from the top floor were blown out but no severe external structural damage was evident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
