Man shot and killed inside flipped BMW in Canarsie: NYPD

CANARSIE, Brooklyn – A driver has been found fatally shot inside a flipped BMW, police said Friday.

The NYPD responded to a 911 call of an overturned vehicle on 600 E. 82nd St. in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Upon arrival, police found the 22-year-old man inside a BMW and after extricating him out of the car, they discovered he suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach.

He was then taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, who was alone, was fleeing the gunfire when he crashed into a double parked car down the block at Farragut and E. 82nd Street and flipped over before coming to a stop across the street, according to police.

Residents tell PIX11 about six cars on the block were damaged in the crash.

Investigators also discovered several bullet holes in the car, according to sources.

The identity of the victim is pending family notification. The investigation is ongoing.
