SOUTH OZONE PARK, Queens – Police released surveillance images of the runaway vehicle transporting the gunman who struck a priest with a stray bullet.

Rev. Damien Ekete, a priest at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Morris Heights, was waiting for a taxi in the vicinity of 134th Street and Rockaway Blvd. around 12:10 a.m. Sunday, when an individual inside the gray car discharged a firearm, wounding him in the right arm, according to police.

Ekete was treated at an area hospital for a gunshot wound to his arm and has been released.

Police believe the priest was not the intended target of the shooting.

No arrests have been made.
