Police shoot man who charged at them with dagger in Brooklyn: NYPD

BERGEN BEACH, Brooklyn — A 27-year-old man was shot twice after he allegedly approached two police officers with a dagger in hand Sunday evening in Brooklyn.

The shooting happened around 8:15 p.m. in the vicinity of E. 68th Street and Avenue T in Bergen Beach.

Neighbors say the man was walking around the neighborhood kicking car doors.

When police approached the man at his home, he allegedly charged at them with dagger in hand.

One of the officers fired two shots at the suspect, hitting him in the stomach.

He was transported to Methodist Hospital where he is in stable condition.

No officers were injured.
