Homeless man arrested for stealing Mother’s Day card: police

MANHATTAN — He’s a career criminal with a heart for mom.

Oswald Jones, 56, was arrested Saturday afternoon inside the Port Authority Bus Terminal for stealing a $6.99 Mother’s Day from a newsstand, police said.

The newstand’s owner saw Jones steal the card and confronted him before taking it back from the criminal.

When Port Authority police arrived, they saw the two arguing and arrested Jones, who according to court documents, had been previously arrested 92 times dating back to 1989.

Jones, who is homeless, was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
