NEW YORK — Uber is celebrating a milestone in New York City. The ride hailing company turned 5 in the Big Apple and so to honor the achievement, the company is offering discounted rates and free pizza in the five boroughs.

According to the company's blog, Uber Pool service will be a flat rate of $5 for trips beginning and ending in a select borough. Riders also will be able to get a free slice from select restaurants in those particular boroughs as part of the hashtag #UberPizzaParty campaign. Users just have to show their app when they walk into participating restaurants.

Though demand will be high and supply is limited.

Last month, the company announced 100,000 New Yorkers use the service each month -- double the number from just six months earlier.
