NYPD: Skateboarder struck and killed in Queens

NEW YORK — Police say an 18-year-old skateboarder was struck and killed by a vehicle in Queens.

It happened at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Forest Parkway and Park Lane South.

Police say the man was on a skateboard when he collided with a truck operated by the New York City Parks Department.

The unidentified skateboarder was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the driver of the truck remained at the scene.
