17 residents displaced by Bayonne fire

BAYONNE, N.J. – Four families have been displaced by a massive house fire in Bayonne Monday morning.

Flames broke out Monday morning at 124 W. 26th St. in Bayonne.

By 7:30 a.m., flames continued to shoot from the home's roof, which partially collapsed earlier in the morning. The fire, which spread to several houses,  was contained shortly after firefighters arrived on the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Seventeen people from four families received assistance from the Red Cross.

The families will be provided with temporary lodging as well as personal care items.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
