NEW YORK – FDNY’s annual Calendar of Heroes is hotter than ever – and historic.

This year’s two-in-one calendar features 12 months of men and 12 months of women and includes FDNY EMTs and paramedics for the first time.

Last year marked the first time a female firefighter graced the calendar’s laminated pages, notorious for highlighting hard-bodied first responders. Now, there are 12 months celebrating the city’s Bravest women.

And they’re not the only newcomers.

FDNY EMTs and paramedics were invited this year, too.

“I’m proud that the 2017 is the first calendar the Department has produced which truly represents all of our heroes – the men and women who risk their lives as Firefighters, EMTs and Paramedics every day to keep New York City safe,” Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro said in a statement.

All proceeds from the calendar go to the FDNY Foundation, the department’s non-profit arm that promotes fire safety education for New Yorkers and training for FDNY members.
