22-year-old man stabbed to death on Upper East Side street

UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan – Police said a 22-year-old man has died after getting stabbed multiple times in the chest early Tuesday.

The attack happened near the intersection of Third Avenue and East 94th Street around 1:15 a.m. on the Upper East Side.

Xavier Olivares, of the Bronx, got into an argument with his alleged attacker before being stabbed, police said.

Olivares was taken to Metropolitan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A resident heading to work was in shock when she left her home and saw a crime scene.

"It's crazy," she said. "I come out this time every morning so to see this is kind of scary."

There are no arrests and investigation is ongoing.
