NEW YORK —  Commuters at Penn Station will soon have another food option before catching their trains.

A spokesperson for Shake Shack told the Commercial Observer that the company signed a 10-year lease in the underground concourse currently under construction.

The nearly 2,500-square-foot location is expected to open in 2017. Commercial Observer reports that renters are asking for $500 per square foot.

In 2014, Shake Shack announced it would open a location in Herald Square at the southwest corner of Broadway and 36th Street.

Other than the two Penn Plaza area locations, there are 13 Shake Shacks in the five boroughs including JFK Airport and Grand Central Terminal.
