SAYVILLE, N.Y. — A babysitter was arrested for trying to check out the child of her former employer from school, then breaking into their house to leave a gift for the boy.

Last Wednesday, Casey Evans, 29, of Ronkonkoma, tried to sign a 4-year-old boy she used to babysit out from school without the parents’ permission, Suffolk County Police said.

Later that day, she illegally trespassed into the family’s home to leave a gift for the boy, police said.

Evans worked for the family between August and November 2015 and was fired by the parents, according to police.
