Port Authority Bus Terminal reopens after suspicious package prompts brief evacuation

NEW YORK -- The south wing of Port Authority bus terminal has been reopened after a suspicious package prompted a brief evacuation Saturday afternoon.

Port Authority Police canine were alerted around 2:43 p.m. to a suspicious package wrapped in brown paper in front of McCann's inside the south wing, according to a police spokesperson.

The south wing was evacuated while the matter was investigated.

As of 3:40 p.m., the south wing of the terminal has reopened.
