Bronx teen dies from apparent seizure while in police custody: NYPD

THE BRONX – A 19-year-old man who was under police custody has died from an apparent seizure Thursday, the NYPD said.

Jonathan Jennings, of the Bronx, was arrested after narcotics officers executed a search warrant and found drugs at his apartment on Lorillard Place, according to police.

While being transported to the 48th precinct stationhouse, Jennings began to suffer from an apparent seizure, police said. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was was conscious and alert.

He was being treated in the emergency room when his condition worsened was later pronounced dead, police said.

The medical examiner will determine cause of death.
