MYRTLE BEACH, SC—A bloody box was found in Myrtle Beach labeled “human remains” but it turned out to be filled with rotten vegetables.

According to WBTW, the box was found Thursday morning near a ditch and was bagged by EMS and given to the Horry County Coroner’s Office for further investigation.

Investigators said the only thing they found inside was a rotten tomato and an onion. A doctor tested the box for bodily fluids said they found nothing. The “blood” was likely food coloring.

The Horry County Coroner, Robert Edge, joked with WBTW saying, “I suppose you could’ve made a tomato, onion sandwich.”
