BOROUGH PARK, Brooklyn — Police are searching for a man they say sexually assaulted and tried to rape a woman Saturday night in Brooklyn.

According to police, the victim, 29, was in the lobby of her apartment on 50th Street in Borough Park just before midnight when the suspect approached her with a knife.

The suspect then allegedly held the knife to her throat and began groping her. Police say he then removed her clothing and sexually assaulted her before running away.

EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where she was treated and released.

The suspect is described as being between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10 with a slim build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
