TRUMBULL, Conn. — Police have canceled an Amber Alert for a 7-year-old Connecticut boy.

The alert for Ariel Revello, 7, was canceled Saturday evening after the boy was found safely.

Revello was allegedly taken by his father Rodolfo Revello Saturday morning around 5 a.m.

According to WPIX's sister station WTIC, police said at 4:30 a.m., Revello broke into the house on Unity Road and attacked his estranged wife, got a knife from the kitchen but was disarmed by his stepson.

The woman was able to jump out a window and hide outside, police told WTIC. Revello took several thousand dollars worth in cash and jewelry before waking Ariel and taking him, police said. The woman was treated for her injuries at the hospital.

According to the Patch, Revello was sentenced in 2012 to five years in prison following an investigation into gang activity including firearms and narcotics trafficking.

It's unknown if police have the father in custody.
