NEW YORK — Foodies are getting their stomachs ready to experience the finest local dishes at the ninth annual Village Voice Choice Eats event Friday.

The event will feature foods from 65 restaurants around the five boroughs.

On Monday, Village Voice announced the 15 newest additions to the bill: Belle Reve, Butter Lane, Cabalito Pupuseria, Dough, ESH, The Gander, Grandaisy Bakery, Javelina Tex-Mex, Littleneck, Nha Minh, Pearl and Ash, Rosemary’s, Sheep Station, Sugar Couture, and Untamed Sandwiches.

Each year food critics scour the area to highlight hidden gems in the New York City food scene. Over 35 nations will be represented this year in the restaurant selection.

Foodies will move through the different courses from restaurants including The Meatball Shop, Socarrat Paella Bar and Luke’s Lobster. For dessert, guests will have the opportunity to sample from Doughnut Plant, Sugar Couture, Butter Lane and many more.

As the event continues to grow in popularity, tickets came and went quickly in the VIP categories. Foodies can still snag general admission tickets for $70 on Ticketfly.

A portion of ticket proceeds will go to non-profit organization Slow Food NYC. Slow Food shares the same mission of bringing quality foods and culture to New Yorkers. The organization works with local food producers, artisans, chefs and restaurateurs who promote quality and sustainability.

The event kicks off at 6 p.m., at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
