Long Island man captured in Georgia after allegedly kidnapping ex-girlfriend

OAKDALE, N.Y. — A Long Island man who allegedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend has been captured in Georgia.

At 5 a.m. Wednesday, Christopher Ryan, 23, broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home on Brooke Street and forced her into a 2015 Mercedes Benz, according to Suffolk County police.

The Medford native drove with the victim until Ozone Park in Queens when the vehicle stopped and the victim was able to escape, according to police.

The victim, from Oakdale, suffered minor injuries.

Ryan allegedly fled and was arrested at 10:25 p.m. in Georgia by the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

Ryan will be extradited and charged with burglary, robbery and kidnapping charges.
