A young California police officer is gaining a lot of attention on social media, not just because of his arresting smile.

Photos of him and a young aspiring officer have turned into a viral sensation thanks to an adorable moment of community outreach.

Mike Gradilla, a Westminster Police officer, met with the littlest honorary department member, 3-year-old Tayden Nguyen.

According to the Orange County Register, the little boy had just started pre-school, and Tayden's uncle called the police department saying his nephew, who is fascinated by officers, was in a bad mood and needed a pick-me-up.

So the department dispatched the 26-year-old officer to visit the little boy, who donned his own policeman's costume and hat, and even sat on the hood of Gradilla's squad car.

The photos posted to the department's Facebook page so far have garnered more than 60,000 likes and thousands of shares ... as well as an overwhelming response from female admirers, hoping to get a visit from Officer Gradilla as well.
