INDIANAPOLIS — An 18-year-old was shot and killed after prosecutors say he wrote an inflammatory tweet.

Jerrold Parker, 18, died after shot multiple times the evening of February 3. He was just a few weeks away from graduating high school.

An affidavit obtained by WXIN showed that Parker and a friend tweeted that Devin Leggett, 19, and his friends “couldn’t rap,” setting off a feud.

Leggett was charged with Parker’s murder as well as carrying a handgun without a license.

“He was taken away for nothing,”Parker’s mother Sanekah Jackson-Jones told WXIN.

“I want kids to understand is you have to think before you do things,”Jackson-Jones told WXIN. “It amazes me how something so simple turned into something so big and it just doesn’t make sense.”
