NEW YORK — Weather-related incidents are being reported across the tri-state area Wednesday night as heavy rain continues to pummel the area.
The New Jersey-bound upper level of the George Washington Bridge has been reopened after a tractor-trailer overturned due to high winds a just before 10 p.m., causing 30-to 40-minute delays.
The incident was cleared a little after midnight Thursday. Lanes were reopened around 12:30 a.m.
In Westchester County, the winds estimated to gust over 60 mph, brought down a tree onto the Metro-North tracks in Ardsley around 9:15 p.m. causing a northbound train on the Hudson line to hit it. The train made it to Irvington Station with minimal damage.
No injuries were reported.
The Hudson line resumed to normal schedule around 11 p.m.
Airports delays are also being reported with delays up to four hours at John F. Kennedy International Airport, two hours 23 minutes at Laguardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport.
