NORTH SHORE, Staten Island — An investigation surrounding a 1-year-old's death is underway as police question the boy's babysitter early Monday.

Officers responded to a 911 call of cardiac condition at 195 Steuben St. shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday, police said. The infant, Anthony Delgado, was in the care of his baby sitter at the time, according to the NYPD.

FDNY members performed CPR on the 16-month-old boy before the child was taken to Staten Island University Hospital North, where he was later pronounced dead.

NYPD says the toddler did "not die of natural causes" but will have the medical examiner determine the exact cause of death.
