FOUNTAIN, Fla.— A teen has been charged with killing his 10-year-old sister, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

Izabella Heffernan was last seen Saturday night at 10 p.m. at her home  on Nona Wood Road in Fountain, Florida. Her family reported her missing on Sunday morning.

Police conducted a search for her and found her body in a large field behind her home on Monday afternoon.

Izabella’s brother, Fredrick Matthew Lochridge, 15, was arrested as a suspect and has been charged with an open count of murder.

Sheriff Frank McKeithen described the boy as “hardcore” during a Monday news conference, saying he acted much older when confronted by authorities.
