UPPER MANHATTAN – Emergency crews are responding to a Harlem apartment building Tuesday morning on reports of a possible gas leak, officials said.

The call came in about 9 a.m. about a gas leak at 160 W. 118th St., near Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, according to Con Edison. Utility crews noted readings of gas in the air and service has been turned off to the building.

Neither fire nor Con Ed could confirm whether residents have been evacuated.

An investigation is underway.
