Hundreds of flights at LaGuardia, Newark, JFK airports canceled because of storm

NEW YORK — Hundreds of flights coming in and out of Newark, Kennedy and LaGuardia airports were canceled ahead of the winter storm hitting parts of the tri-state Monday.

A total of 371 flights had been canceled at those airports as of midnight Monday.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory throughout the five boroughs and parts of Long Island. A winter storm warning is in effect for Suffolk County.

The storm is expected to bring 2 to 4 inches of snow to parts of the tri-state and 4 to 8 inches to Suffolk County. Snowfall is expected to begin early Monday morning.
