QUEENS — Four years ago, Queens resident Nathalia Teixeira decided she wanted to lose weight, even if it required extreme measures.

She recorded a video talking about her fitness goals, but the video showed parts of her body that Teixeira was uncomfortable with.

Teixeira shared the video publicly on YouTube to hold herself accountable during her weight-loss journey.

“A lot of women said they saw themselves in that video,” Teixeira told PIX11 News.

The video drew many positive reactions, but some felt the mom of two should have embraced her curves.

Teixeira says she stands by the video, and today she’s over 100 pounds lighter and now competes in bodybuilding competitions.
