MIDWOOD, Brooklyn — Two suspects are in custody, one still on the loose, after cops shot one of them in a chase that followed a robbery at a cellphone store in Brooklyn Monday morning.

Police say the suspects hit a cellphone store shortly after 11 a.m., at 418 Avenue P, at East Second Street, in Midwood.

Two suspects entered the store armed with firearms as they forced all employees to a back room and proceeded to remove an undermined amount of money.

The suspects then fled the location in the Jeep.

A store employee then chased the suspects’ vehicle while calling 911. In the vicinity of Coney Island Avenue and East 15 Street, the employee saw a marked NYPD patrol vehicle and alerted the officers to the incident.

The suspects’ vehicle then turned southbound on East 14 Street from Avenue O and struck a parked vehicle at which time the suspects exited the vehicle, one of whom displayed a firearm.

A responding officer discharged his firearm, striking the armed suspect twice in the chest.

The suspect was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

One other suspect was apprehended without further incident and a third suspect has not been apprehended at this time.

This suspect is an unidentified male wearing a gray hoodie.

There were two firearms recovered at the scene. The officers involved were not injured.
