Five injured after fire breaks out in Bronx apartment

THE BRONX — Multiple people were injured, one in critical condition, after fire broke out on the third floor of an apartment building in the Bronx Monday night.

The fire broke out around 8:30 p.m. on Barnes Avenue in the Allerton section of the Bronx, according to the FDNY.

One woman was taken to Jacobis Hospital in critical condition. Two other people were treated for minor injuries.

Two firefighters also sustained minor injuries.

The fire was put under control around 9 p.m.
