BUSHWICK, Brooklyn — The man who allegedly raped a 10-year-old, causing her significant injuries during his assault at a home in Brooklyn last October has been taken into police custody, police say.

Edwin P Caizaguano, 24, allegedly had sexual intercourse with a young girl at a residence on Moffat Street in Bushwick on October 19.

Caizaguano was apprehended on Jan. 11 in Saint Pail, Minnesota by the the NYPD’s Fugitive Apprehension Team and is awaiting extradition.

She was taken to an area hospital where she was required surgery to recover from injuries sustained during the incident.
