PHILADELPHIA — Shocking surveillance video captured a Buddhist monk being robbed as he bought lottery tickets in Philadelphia.

The 61-year old-victim had his wallet and $350 taken and then was violently thrown to the ground at a gas station, police said.

CCTV cameras filmed as the attacker harassed the monk before quickly grabbing his wallet and making a break for the exit.

After taking the money, the culprit ran from the store with the victim following him.

The monk caught his attacker when a struggle ensued. During the struggle, the monk was pushed to the ground and suffered a cut to his left leg, officials said.
