Stop & Shop is recalling Care One Children’s Mucus Relief Cough with the expiration date of March 2017

NEW YORK — Stop & Shop Supermarket is recalling the Care One Children’s Mucus Relief Cough medicine due to incorrect dosage markings on its bottle that can potentially cause an overdose.

The recall was announced on Saturday. the product with the following information are affected by the recall:

  • Care One Children’s Mucus Relief Cough — Cherry Flavor, 4 oz., UPC 34152031837 with an expiration date of 3/17.

The supermarket company said there have been no reported illnesses.

Customers who purchased the cough medicine with the expiration date are advised to throw it away. They can receive a refund by bringing their receipt into a local Stop & Shop.

Almost 500 stores throughout New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island will have to remove the product from their shelves.
