7 NYPD officers injured in multi-vehicle pileup on FDR Drive

MANHATTAN — Seven police officers and one civilian were injured in a multi-vehicle pileup on the FDR in Manhattan Sunday morning.

The accident involving a convoy of three police cruisers and one civilian vehicle happened around noon on the southbound FDR Drive at East 116th Street.

The police officers were transported to Cornell Medical Center with neck and back pain. The civilian was taken to Metropolitan Hospital, also with neck and back pain.

None of the injuries were life-threatening.
