SAN DIEGO — Twins in San Diego born three minutes apart won't share the same birth date.

Jaelyn Valencia was born New Year's Eve at 11:59 p.m. Her twin brother, Luis Valencia Jr., arrived at 12:01 a.m. on New Year's Day at San Diego Kaiser Permanente Zion Medical Center.

The babies weren't due for another month, but doctors called their mother, Maribel Valencia, 22, because one of the babies was in a breech position.

A spokesperson for the hospital told FOX San Diego both infants were "happy and healthy" as was their mother after the delivery.
The father, Luis Valencia, called it a New Year's blessing to have two healthy children.  the couple also has a three-year-old daughter named Isabella.
