Man struck by train at Chelsea subway station

CHELSEA, Manhattan — A man was struck by a train in Chelsea Saturday evening.

The incident happened just after 9 p.m., at the 23rd Street A,C,E subway station. A spokesperson for the MTA says the victim was struck by a northbound C train.

A witness tells PIX11 at least 30 firefighters were on the scene pulling the man out from underneath the train.

It’s not clear at this time how the man ended up on the tracks. His condition is unknown.

Trains were delayed for a period of time but are now running on a normal schedule.
