Man arrested for allegedly assaulting nephew, 5, for playing with Pokémon cards

SALISBURY, Md. – A 29-year-old man is facing child abuse and assault charges after allegedly hitting his young nephew for playing with his Pokémon cards.

Police responded to a home at Phillip Morris Drive where there were reports of an altercation, according to ABC2.

Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office told ABC2 that Kyle T. Burford, 29, hit his nephew, 5, because he was playing with Burford’s Pokémon cards.

Burford allegedly hit his nephew so hard, he was knocked off his feet and into a wall, according to ABC2.

Burford was arrested at the home and charged with child abuse and assault, ABC2 reports.
