NEW YORK — Actor John Boyega gave diehard “Star Wars” fans a huge surprise when he showed up at “The Force Awakens” screenings in theaters throughout New York City on Friday’s opening night.
Boyega, who plays a stormtrooper Finn in “The Force Awakens,” popped into the Regal Cinemas Union Square, AMC Loews at West 34th Street, the AMC loews at Lincoln Square, United Artists Court Street Stadium and Williamsburg Cinemas for a short meet and greet.
The actor said “was in the area” and decided to stop by, an ultimate thank you to fans for watching the movie.
