It's been nearly two decades since Amadou Diallo was shot and killed. Four NYPD officers fired 41 shots at the unarmed African immigrant in the vestibule of his Bronx home.

Diallo became one of the first national symbols of police brutality. Now, his murder is making headlines again as the NYPD promotes one of the officers who opened fire on Diallo.

Kadiatou Diallo, Diallo's mother, joins the PIX11 morning news.

Kadiatou is featured in a documentary film "Every Mother's Son."
