Police: Hit-and-run crash leaves man, 32, dead in North Amityville

NORTH AMITYVILLE, N.Y. – Authorities are searching for the man who took off on foot after a crash that left a 32-year-old man dead on Long Island.

It happened around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday in North Amityville.

Police say a stolen Chevrolet Trailblazer hit a Honda Civic driven by Reginald Celifie.

The Lindenhurst man was taken to a West Islip hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the driver of the Trailblazer fled on foot after the crash. Police say the Trailblazer was reported stolen on Dec. 8.
