JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Dozens of residents are displaced Wednesday after a fire ripped through multiple homes in Jersey City, authorities said.

It happened in the 100 block of Dekalb Avenue, officials said. The three-alarm blaze was reported shortly after 3 a.m. and was knocked down within an hour, but not before it did enough damage to push some 30 people from their homes, according to the Red Cross.

It was not immediately known if anyone was hurt.
