NEW YORK – Authorities have arrested a 14-year-old boy for allegedly toppling a menorah near Gracie Mansion, police said.

The boy apparently told authorities he knocked over the 100-pound menorah twice this month because he was bored. It happened Dec. 5 and 6 in Carl Schurz Park on the Upper East Side.

The unidentified teen has been charged with criminal mischief and a hate crime, officials said.

The menorah was righted and re-lit on Dec. 7. Mayor Bill de Blasio, who attended the ceremony, said it was important to “stand up” for what is right and “show our resilience.”
