ESTILL SPRINGS, Tenn. — A 12-year-old boy is accused of shooting and killing his 11-year-old classmate over the weekend in Tennessee, according to WSMV.

Police say North Middle School student Sienna Dusk Owens was shot in the back around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The accused shooter is also a student at the school.

Sienna was transported to Southern Tennessee Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Recently, staff at the Rain Tree Center, where Sienna often spent her time, found the last message she ever wrote.

“The fact that she wrote ‘God is my favorite’ just lets us know that what we were set out to do, it’s working for somebody, just a really sweet little girl,” said Jessica May, the director of the center.

Police have not determined whether the shooting was intentional or accidental.  The district attorney will now decided whether any charges will be filed in the case.
