Pedestrian killed after being struck by MTA bus in Brooklyn

HOMECREST, Brooklyn — A pedestrian has died after being struck by an MTA bus Monday evening in Brooklyn.

Emergency responders were called to the intersection of E. 17th Street and Avenue Z in Homecrest just before 6 p.m., for a pedestrian struck.

An investigation revealed that the B36 bus was making a left turn onto E. 17th Street when it struck Eleonora Shulkina, 62, as she was crossing the street.

Shulkina was rushed to Coney Island Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The bus driver stayed at the scene after the crash. It's unknown if there will be any charges filed.
