HOUSTON — Christmas came early for employees at a Houston company who gave each of its employees a $100,000 bonus.
According to Forbes and Fortune reports, Hilcorp handed out the bonus to all 1,400 workers after the company met its annual goal.
The company is owned by Jeffery Hildebrand and is one of the largest privately-held oil and gas exploration companies in the United States. It ranked 20th in Fortune’s “Best Companies” list and also ranked high in the magazine’s list of “Best Workplaces for Diversity,”
According to the magazine, the company gave each employee a choice of a $50,000 car or $35,000 in cash back in 2011.
