NEW YORK — Fire officials say six U.S. Postal Service trucks were damaged in a fire in a garage of a Manhattan postal facility.

The blaze broke out around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at a postal facility on 11th Avenue in the Chelsea neighborhood. Dozens of firefighters responded, and the blaze was declared under control around midnight.

The trucks were on the third floor of a parking garage. There are no reported injuries. There was no mail in the trucks at the time of fire.

Local postal officials are making adjustments to vehicle assignments today and there will be no impact to customer deliveries or collections, a U.S. Postal Service spokesperson said.
