71-year-old woman injured when jumper lands on her outside East Side building

TURTLE BAY, Manhattan — A 71-year-old woman was injured after a jumper landed on her after jumping from a third-story window of an Upper East Side building Friday afternoon, police say.

It happened on 51st Street and First Avenue around 3:15 p.m.

The jumper, a 56-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.

The 71-year-old woman was taken to Cornell University Hospital where she is listed in serious condition. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
