UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan – Police are investigating an act of vandalism Monday night.

A menorah in Carl Schurz Park was damaged, just hours after it was lit to mark the first night of Hanukkah.

The menorah was heavily damaged, but local rabbis say this incident will only strengthen them.
