Man hit by 4 cars, killed, while crossing street on Long Island; 2 drivers flee

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — A 64-year-old man was hit by four cars and killed while he was trying to cross the road in Patchogue, police said.

The man was crossing Route 112 at 3 a.m. when a Toyota 4Runner hit him. Then three other cars driving down hit him as well. Two of the drivers left the scene, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified.

Two drivers who stayed at the scene were not injured.

Police determined that the cars that left were a 2011 to 2015 dark-colored Hyundai Elantra and a 2000 to 2007 white or light-colored Ford Taurus.
