NEW YORK – One of the 14 people killed in the San Bernardino shooting was related to New York Giants football player Nat Berhe, the safety tweeted Thursday.

“Just got word that one of my cousins was among the 14 killed yesterday, I’m so sick right now,” Berhe wrote.  “The true terror is that this keeps happening.  I still can’t believe it.  Take a moment to think of the families hurting right now.”

Berhe, who grew up in San Bernardino, decried the situation as it developed Wednesday, blasting the shooters as “cowards” and also showing on a map how close to the scene his parents worked.

The Giants drafted Berhe in 2014; he hasn’t played this year after undergoing surgery on his calf.
