Several roads in Hoboken closed for morning commute after water main break

HOBOKEN, N.J.  — Hoboken officials are advising residents to seek alternate routes for the Monday morning commute after a water main break closed several streets.

A boil water advisory has been issued for Hoboken residents are thousands lost service due to a large water main break Sunday morning.

According to SUEZ Water New Jersey, the water main break has been isolated and being repaired. Residents are advised to boil water for at least a minute before consuming it. Water does not have to be boiled for showering, washing dishes or clothing.

Jersey City residents were also affected by the break. Pressure is expected to be restored to normal, SUEZ announced Sunday afternoon.

Residents are urged to use public transportation to navigate around the water main break.
